About
Hi, I’m Shelley - founder of SAW Consulting and the creator of Umbrella Ready.
With over 17 years’ experience in the umbrella and contractor services industry, I’ve worked through just about every major legislative change the sector has seen. I spent 11 years at Optionis (now Caroola), the UK’s leading provider of accountancy, tax and employment solutions for contractors and small businesses, where I held senior leadership roles across Sales, Service Delivery and Operations.
My final role was Group Sales Director, leading a team of 60+ across six brands. I built high-performing teams through a blend of clear strategy, operational know-how, and a healthy dose of humour.
Today, I’m known for my friendly-but-professional approach and my belief that compliance doesn’t have to be dull. I make the work we do together clear, collaborative and, dare I say, enjoyable, even the compliance parts.
I’m passionate about helping umbrella companies build transparent, compliant and genuinely successful operations. This industry often gets a bad reputation, but I know first-hand how many honest, hardworking businesses are doing things the right way, and they deserve to shine.
I live in Cheshire with my husband, two children and our cat, Willow. I’m a Liverpool supporter, coffee obsessive, lover of good food, and fully committed TV addict.
